Two Durham Employees Win Golden Merit Awards Minimize

Fall 2009
Two employees were recently honored with one of the most prestigious awards in the North American school bus industry.

Mark Thompson, area manager in Northern Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska, and Brian Shuldberg, vice president of Driver Care, were both named as 2009 recipients of the National School Transportation Association’s Golden Merit Award.

The Golden Merit Award is a noteworthy honor. Only 10 individuals are recognized annually for their commitment to excellence in service, safety and community.

This award has special significance because all winners are nominated by their peers, co-workers or customers. Mark was nominated by Senior Vice President, Central Area, Tom McBride and Region Vice President, Midwest Region, Scott Bruegge. Brian was nominated by Senior Vice President, Driver Operations, Bob Ramsdell.

NEC has a strong tradition of Golden Merit Awards—10 NEC employees have won the award since 2002.
